Holiday Season 2022 Recap in Photos

What a fun and memorable holiday season we had this past year.  We did all our favorite traditions and just really tried to be present and soak up all the magic of the season--especially with the boys being at the fun ages they are.

Molbaks with Nana & Pops

Christmas Tree

Santa Visit with Grandparents

Nathan's Choir Concert at Snoqualmie Tree Lighting Ceremony

We didn't get any photos, but James and I did our annual Christmas shopping trip to Bainbridge Island. We shopped our usual favorites like the bookstore, the toy store, outdoors store and the many gift shops.  We had lunch at Hitchcock and also enjoyed riding on the ferry. We topped the day off with dinner at The Met and a trip to Bellevue Square for last minute items. One of my favorite days every year!

Christmas with Cousins

Santa Train

Nutcracker Ballet with Gramma & Grampa (Pops and Nana were sick :( )

Christmas Cookies with Nana & Pops

We had some strange weather at this point--several inches of snow and then the temps dropped really low and then we had freezing rain and a sheet of ice everywhere outside--the streets, sidewalks, etc.  We were supposed to help do Urban Missions with our church, but that got cancelled. And Christmas Eve service got cancelled because of a power outage. Wild few days! It forced us to stay inside cozy though and relax and just wrap presents and hang out.

Christmas Morning

Santa and Mommy & Papa were very generous this year!  Santa brought an XBO, hover board and MLB game for the XBOX.  Mommy & Papa had fun giving books, art stuff and Lego sets. We also sent them on a scavenger hunt to find their new Apple Watches!

Christmas Day

As you can see....lots of great traditions and so much fun! We also changed things up a bit this year and went away on a vacation with the boys for winter break.  Look for that in its own post soon!

Soccer 2022

Just wanted to quickly capture the boys' soccer season in the fall.  Both boys continue to love soccer and are both really good at it.

Cameron's team this year was the Thunder Dragons.  He had some kids from his team last year and then some new friends as well.  They had quite a large ability/skill span so they started out slow and had kind of a tough time for the first few games.  But everyone progressed well through the weeks and they were much stronger by the end.  Most importantly they had a lot of fun as a team.  Cameron was a strong leader on his team and hustled his butt off on the field.  He is so fun to watch because he really leaves it all out on the field and gives 110%.  He's a speed demon too and this season he scored a few goals which was really fun.

Nate was on the Strikers again this season with the same coaches (Chad and Matt) that he has last year.  They are awesome coaches.  He also had some friends who were on his team last year and also made new friends.  His team was really strong this year, but they made the team kind of small and most games they didn't have enough players to be able to sub out. So the boys that played really played their hearts out. Nate played multiple positions this season--defender, mid fielder, outside mid fielder, etc. And he also got his first goal!! It was so exciting! Nate has really come along way with his soccer skills. He is fast and has become more aggressive. Plus his coordination and ball skills have really advanced. It is so fun to watch him play!

Secretly I really hope both boys stay with soccer for a long time because they're both pretty good at it and it's just so fun to watch!
